We raise money for a number of charities at Saltney Methodist Church and we support some local, national and international charities regularly. Here are our main activities.....

Christian Aid

Katy is a Christian Aid local organiser and leads a team of street collectors during Christian Aid Week. Katy and a team of church helpers organise a Christian Aid lunch.

This year, during May 2018, these activities raised over £3000.

Water Aid

Janet is our Water Jar rep and a link with some of the Water Charities we support. Every summer we have a "Silver cascade" for WaterAid in which many church members slowly fill collection bottles with small silver coins. We have raised around £5000 in this way since 2010.

Our smaller projects through the rest of the year have included fund-raising to increase irrigation channels in Tanzania, in the area of Kilimatinde which Janet and Michael visited to see for themselves with World Vision. Last year we also supported Water for Kids in Uganda, through a friend who is an environmental health officer. It is always good to see how our fund-raising is spent.

Chester and Delamere Methodist Circuit Project

All the Methodist churches in our circuit contribute to a common circuit project. Cheshire  Search and Rescue recently received £10,000 as the 2017 Circuit Project beneficiary.

Chester Aid to The Homeless (CATH)

We donated our offering raised at our Christmas Carol Service and have regularly supported CATH.

Flintshire Foodbank

Weekly donations from local supermarkets and churches are collected at Saltney Methodist Church and distributed from our church hall each Friday morning by Vicky and other helpers from our church.
